" Carrom or carroms is a family of tabletop games sharing a similarity in that their mechanics lie somewhere between billiards and table shuffleboard. The game has various other names around the world, including carrum, carum, karam, karom, karum, and "Indian finger billiards".
The majority of sources suggest that the game is of Indian origin while some sources claim the game is of Chinese origin
The aim of the game is to pot one's own nine carrom men before one's opponent pots his/hers. However, before sinking one's final carrom man, the Queen must be pocketed and then "covered" by pocketing one of one's own carrom men on the same or subsequent stroke. Fouls, such as crossing the diagonal lines on the board with any part of one's body, or potting the striker, lead to carrom men being returned to the board. The back shot is allowed, which is called thumb shots or (thumbing) . The player is allowed to play with any finger. " -- Wikipedia
Well for those of you who are unaware of what Carrom is, I have done a little research that will, hopefully, explain the game.
The picture above is a picture of my friend playing it while in class this morning ( No uno! ) before recess.
I'm not very good at it, so I think Ameira took over for me while Bryan challenged me at a game of Mancala - We I won. (YAY)
I've never really been able to beat someone who plays Mancala and knows the rules properly before, so it's a big deal for me.
So either I got lucky or he's not very good, seeing as he's never beat me in the three consistant weeks we've been playing (*swt*) But I think that he lets me win a lot so it's not as much fun.
This morning we had a relay race and I volunteered myself to be a Station Master alongside Chien Chian and Jasmine at the muddiest, dirtiest, most disguisting station ever
The object was to push your opponent over while bunny hopping on one foot with your arms crossed - In the mud.
Chien Chian thought he had a brilliant idea when he decided we should spray the non-winning teams (**Note: I don't refer to people as "Losers") with icy water.
Yeah, well it was all fun and dandy until thick mud started to form all over the place (and we were all barefoot).
I must have seen at least four or five centipedes squirming through the muck and one was even crawling on my foot!
It was way or than I bargained for but it was definately worth it.
After the games were over, the guys starting pelting the left over water balloons at all the girls and spraying them (or should I say us?) down with the hose.
Right when I was so proud of being the only dry (and sane) girl standing, the boys found enormous buckets, which they filled with cold water and guess what? They all ganged up on me.
Hahahaha! I shall have my revenge....
Each time the girls got even close to dry, the boys would come up from behind and pour water down our backs all over again!
And that was my last day of school!
Very fun, very eventful, very slimy and most importantly - Very memorable.
