( With my cousin, Amalina )
What I'm Listening To: Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson ( I love this song! )
In Malaysia, Eid is celebrated for about a week. Sounds great, right? But having banks, supermarkets etc. closed for an entire week is not such a good idea, trust me.
People can get hungry without food! :D
Eventhough the word 'hunger' in Malaysia is unheard of.
But this year, Giant and Mydin ( two of Terengganu's major supermarkets ) are open on the second day of Eid.
This is SO convinient because sometimes people run out of food while hosting an Open House so they end up cooking everything they have until there's nothig left!
Today, Luke, Micah and their parents celebrated Eid with us. We went to visit several of my relatives today, and guess what?
We ate! The food was delicious. There are many different kinds of dishes such as Satay ( scewered, marinated chicken ), Nasi Minyak ( yellow rice served with beef or chicken curry ), Ketupat ( traditional Malaysian rice dumplings served with beef or chicken floss ) and lots of other 'goodies'.
Luke and I managed to eat an entire jar of chocolate cookies at my great-uncle's house and fought over the last one ( which we shared in the end ). It's like I said, the more you ejoy the food, the more it pleases the host (...and the more it pleases my tummy)
The weather was scorching hot today! So in the afternoon, the eight of us drove to Luke's-mother's-friend's-mother's house.
We've never met before, but it was fun! It was amazing because after about ten minutes, my parents was laughing with our hosts as if they had known eachother for ages!
As for Luke, Micah, Fiona and I, we managed to meet up with a friend from school --BRYAN!!
Bryan is a vocalist in a rock band called False Gravity, an Interactor, Choir Member and 100% fun guy.
We had a blast catching up!
Our next stop was my half uncle's house. Luke, Micah and I watched Boiling Points on MTV while happily chatting with my cousins. We also ate. And last but not least, we toured my other half uncle's house and ate some more.
