What I'm Listening to: Change in My Condition - Keegan
Today started out as any ordinary Monday, but later that morning, sophomores from other schools (namely SMK Sains and SMK Bukit Besar) came to our school to participate in a Relay-Race and Patriotic Singing Competition, held in the field and school hall.
I didn't take part in anything, because:
a) I was lazy.
b)The field was wet.
c)Why should I? >.<
It was sort of lame and poorly planned, though I think they enjoyed themselves.
So instead, we played Uno most of the day ^.^
While we were enduring a particulary long and boring speech by a teacher in the school hall, I sat next to Bryan (who shouldn't have been there in the first place because he's a junior) and he asked me something quite unexpected.
"What's your problem?"
Not in a rude way, but out of interest.
He just looked and me while I told him I had no idea what he was talking about.
He shared a few hardships he was going through to get me to open up.
...and finally he said something so inspirational, I couldn't even believe it was coming from the punk-rocker, Interactor, with two ear piercings.
"I think you should spend some more time to think about yourself."
He's right. I don't appreciate myself at all. Everything in my life is just a mess!
I should be think about who I am, and where I should go from here.
Maybe I'm just too busy or too absorbed with others that I never stopped to realize the problems I go through; I mean, I do realize them but I either try to shut it out by whatever means possible or never admit to the world that I have a problem. I only truly share my feelings with my best friend, Alisha who lives in Illinois and Alex.
Other than that, I don't talk about it and hug my friends randomly and call them cute names to cover up for all the pain I go through.
People shouldn't do that.
So, for everyone who reads this blog, please ask yourself this question.
Do you appreciate yourself?
- If you don't, maybe you should learn to love yourself more.
